Lifted with 24" wheels makes it a head turner. The car has a low mileage 350 Chevy crate engine and a Hughes 700R4 Transmission. The interior has been completely customized with a Dakota Digital Dash and custom two tone vinyl to match the paint. This car is extremely custom and fully upgraded. 2008 Dodge Challenger SLP Exhaust

We worked with SLP to customize an exhaust kit for a 2008 Dodge Challenger that sounds awesome. We had to do some minor customiztion to their kit but it couldn't be better. We have also installed a Mopar Cold Air Intake and Tinted the Windows on this car. If you have any questions about how we did it just give us a call and we will be glad to give you information.

Always think twice before you let your little brother borrow your car. The owner of this 2005 Cadillac CTS-V definitely will. This car was rolled up an embankment on the freeway and kept going until a large pole stopped it. The driver and passenger both had seat belts on and were unharmed, however the car was totalled. The good news is the car was for sale before the accident and he just lowered his price. Can you say "motivated seller"!

MTV Cribs - Fastest Chevelle on Earth?

MTV Cribs recently filmed one of the cars that we worked extensively on. If you look on our project pages, under 1968 Chevelle with 572, you can see some of the transformation of this car. We installed the 572 and the upgraded gauge package, as well as a lot of other things from suspension to exhaust. DeAngelo says in the video it is probably the fastest Chevelle on Earth. We're not so sure about that, but it is one of the fastest Chevelles I've ever driven. Check it out, it is at the end of the clip.

Late Night Pick Up

Buying cars for our clients is always an adventure. Last week we drove out to LA to pick up a 1970 Challenger which was actually in great shape and was the right price. However we needed to leave on the spur of the moment to make sure we got it before someone else picked it up.

Monday at 5:00 pm in the middle of rush hour we left Phoenix for LA with a trailer in tow. The trip out wasn't bad and the car was exactly as described, except for a locked up rear end which made reverse impossible. The transaction went smoothly and we headed back to Phoenix.

The ride back was rough and long; we got back in town about 4:00 am. Other than the cops wondering what we were doing at the shop at 4 in the morning, we made it safe and sound. The main thing is we got the car the customer wanted at the right time and price.

Getting the car off the trailer was a whole other story without reverse. We needed to use Sandra Vergina's Nissan Power to yank it off. Check out the video of it. (Sound makes it better)

We are trying to take plenty of pictures so you can see the transformations of the cars we are working on. One of the more dramatic changes came on the 70 Cuda 440 Six Pack Car. It is amazing what some window tint and wheels can do to a car. We have a lot of work left but this is definitely a good start. Sandra has returned from vacation

Sandra Vergina has returned from her beach vacation after apparently stopping off in Vegas for some Super Bowl betting. Apparently all the rest and relaxation didn't soak in. When one of the guys refused to file some paperwork for her; he felt the wrath.

Nobody puts Sandra Vergina in a corner.

Arizona Cars?

Everyone is always asking if a car is a true "Arizona" car. This seems to be the holy grail of survivor classic cars. No winter, low humidity, no salted highways to thaw everything out; these are a great recipe for a car to survive decades of abuse. However the last couple mornings reminded me of waking up in the midwest when I scraped my windshield and waited for the car to warm up. If it wasn't for the palm trees I might have asked if the ground hog saw his shadow or not. Check out these pictures of the frost and ice. This is a pretty rare sight for the "Valley of the Sun".

Emissions Cars Come Full Circle

It never ceases to amaze me the variety of cars we get through here, especially for emissions. Now we have come full circle; from the Cadillac Hearse to a 1978 Mini Cooper with a right drive steering wheel. It seems when other shops can't pass them they end up here and somehow we always pass them. We even have a little fun in between. I will say it is different to tune a carb on your knees; usually there is a crate or something to step up on involved. I don't even want to think about what we are going to have to pass next.

Camaro RS Hideaway Headlights

Sometimes the easiest things take three times as long because of a faulty part. We were having trouble getting the hideaway headlights to operate correctly on a 1968 RS Camaro. We had gone through three vacuum canisters and were still having problems. Come to find out the canisters from OER (in the yellow and black box) are notoriously defective. Every one we ordered was defective and we found another person who went to their warehouse and tested 23 before he got a good one.

We finally got a different brand from Eckler's Camaro parts. This canister was made in America and worked the first time. So for anyone out there fighting a problem with vacuum operated hideaway headlights, make sure your part isn't faulty and is made by a quality manufacturer. Sometimes someone elses pain can save you a lot of time.

Tuesday - Getting cars ready to sell

We spent a lot of time today getting different cars ready to sell. Every year when the Barrett Jackson auction comes around it seems like the time everyone wants to get their cars ready to sell on various auctions and private sales. Today we spent time removing stereo equipment from a customized Escalade getting it ready to go up for sale. This truck is completely custom and is almost ready to go for a lucky buyer.

We also brought out a 1962 Porsche 356 B Coupe T6, that is a completely original survivor car. Apparently the original owner even stored this car with the doors cracked open so the weather stripping wouldn't collapse. This car is almost like it came out of a time capsule and is beautiful. It is getting ready to go to a private auction that runs during the same time as Barrett.

We are currently finishing up work on our "Cars for sale" page, which will feature a wide variety of Muscle Cars, Exotics, Motorcycles and Classics. Check that out when it is complete, because we are always helping our clients sell their vehicles and it is a very interesting collection of vehicles.

Other than that we spent more time on emissions today and finished up an aluminum radiator and temp guage issue on a 1972 Toyota Land Cruiser. There was also a lot of buzz around the shop today about the pictures of the new 2009 Dodge Ram released at the Detroit Auto Show today. Even though a bunch of these guys are Mopar freaks, I got to admit its a major improvement and does look pretty bad ass.

Well we got a lot of work to finish tomorrow to continue our push for the Super Bowl car. I'm expecting a lot out of my assistant Sandy Vergina, so we'll see if he can make it happen

Monday - Back to work

Well we all had a good weekend and back to work today. Seems like everyone had something to do this weekend. Half the shop watched the NFL Playoff games together and the other half went to Super Cross. Somewhere in there we still found time to drop an engine in a car (the type of car will remain nameless to protect the innocent gear heads), work on the 1968 Chevelle for Super Bowl week and continue updating this site with more content.
The last two weeks have been a little rough due to a pretty bad cold making its way through the shop. Pretty much everyone has had it enough to knock them out for a day and another guy dropped today. Guess all that Vitamin C in the Monsters didn't keep him safe like he thought.
We must have officially hit emission season because we have had a ton of cars that failed emissions. In the last couple days we have passed a 1972 Nova, 1977 Vette, 1971 Mach 1 and a 1977 Cadillac Hearse (I don't even want to talk about what the parking lot smelled like when we opened the back of that up). Seems like we have the magic touch when it comes to emissions, it isn't always pretty, but we always pass em. There are still a bunch of cars scheduled to be tuned to pass this week.
Well hopefully everyone is a little healthier tommorow, cause I know we got a full day.

It's Friday

Today we are mainly working on a 1968 Chevelle which is a project we are trying to finish before the Super Bowl for one of our clients. We finished up the exhaust this morning and are working on the LED tail lights and bumpers this afternoon.

We are also digging for parts today for a 1948 Plymouth. Sometimes it is fun to try to find this stuff, especially when the parts people laugh at you when you call them up.

We are putting together a couple tech articles about installing tubular suspension, upgrading to Vintage Air and the benfits of adding a front runner. Check back here next week for more updates.
